Jaxson Fisher

So no fabulous pictures yet ... labor was not as easy as some of the others had been. So these are the best pictures I have to share ... hopefully better ones to come soon. He was 8 lbs. 11 oz. and 20 inches long, born on April 17th. He's doing awesome and is a joy to have around ... my husband is home taking care of us, so the kids and everything feel very do-able, lol. He goes back after next week ... just about the time I finally am up and moving on my own okay (at least that's the way it's worked with the other kids). Hope to have some rest soon and to be able to craft sometime ... I'm itchin' to make something for Savannah's room!

Hair Bows, hair bows, hair bows!

Okay, these are completely addictive! I spent almost four hours making these ones for Savannah for her Easter dress. It is two strands of a basic pink ribbon underneath in the shape of an x, two sets of the perky butterfly loops bow, two colors of the korker bows and then just a simple tied ribbon in the center. It wouldn't have taken so long, but I had to make three sets of the korker ribbons for the middle (the first set of colors were all wrong, the second set I accidentally burned/set off the fire alarm on ... at 10:30 at night, and the third set was finished at midnight on Easter). Either way, she loved them ... and so did I! :) Then last night I made this set for Savannah's big sister shirt ... not my favorite set, but it's done and we're moving on. Now to get to work on this project for the night ...

Cute Embroidery Shirts

Okay, so I definitely would recommend buying these (from this gal's store) rather than making them --it took me almost 5 hours from start to finish for the whole thing -- ... but then again I am very slow at the cutting/sewing department right now. Although I love the way they turned out!!! I went to the Dr. on Monday and was at two centimeters, can you believe it?!?!? I've never, ever, ever done that much on my own! So exciting!!!

This Weekend ...

Thanks you guys for the nice comments on the pillow! Hunter is just about ready to BURST about having $10 to spend at a local video game store! They sell used games so he should be able to pick up something this weekend ... he's so excited!

One of my favorite stores is this fantastic fabric home fabric store close by with a clearance section to die for! Hundreds of bolts of decorator weight fabrics and a lot of them only $3 a yard (and that's the 54" stuff too!). So I picked up some the other week for some bedroom projects ... nothing too fancy. I can't get the new bedspread I want right now ... but some throw pillows and a curtain would do wonders for the room.
Our room was already painted a creamy yellow on three of the walls, and a nice green on the other. And the bedspread is a dark brown. So those were the colors that I tried to compliment when picking the fabric. The dragonfly print is my favorite. Here's hoping I finish it up the room in time to show you on Monday or Tuesday! :)

The Tooth Fairy

So my son had a cavity, which we had fixed. But, the dentist didn't drill deep enough, and as a result, the entire tooth beneath it rotted away and yesterday he had to go to the dentist to have the tooth pulled. Now, our new dentist is awesome. He has been really great with Hunter and took his time, slowly working up to this procedure. And I've been so obsessed with explaining it to Hunter and making it not a big deal (he was awake for the whole procedure) that between that, getting ready for baby and some guests we have coming tomorrow ... well ... that's pretty much all I've been focused on.
So imagine my surprise when Hunter, innocently looks at me and says, "You made me something special to put my tooth in for the tooth fairy, right?".
Oops.
Of course I didn't admit that that had been the last thing on my mind ... and the fact that my little boy still thinks I can make him just about anything lickety-split is a ego-boosting, wonderful thing. He won't always think I'm so cool.
So after dropping him off at school, I hurried home and printed up this tutorial (which I had ear-marked well over a year ago). There were a lot of other things that needed to be done ... but this definitely trumped all of that! I had some fleece that I used & fabric laying around and it really wasn't hard and didn't take too long (just every free moment of my entire day) ...
And since it was a tooth that the dentist had to pull, and he was such a brave boy (and he had a REALLY hard time ... oh my) ... the tooth fairy brought him $10 ... compared to the usual $1 that he'll get for just losing his teeth on his own.

Sibling Shirts

So I really wanted the kids to get some kind of shirt when the baby was born. But, I couldn't find any that went together for all three kids. Hunter's a 6/7, Savannah's so tall she needs a 4T and Colton is 18-24 months. And since this idea hit me about two weeks ago, it seemed too late to order something on etsy. Although, if you are thinkin' about ordering some shirts ... I did a really bad impersonation of this gal's darling ones ... they are too awesome!
Anyways, now to just finish sewing down the letters ... hopefully today ... before the baby comes would be a good thing. I just love them!
